Last week

  • Jonnie Juice of Team Pretty (with Queen Hollie) beat The Technician
  • Max "the Axe" Damage pinned the Brute

This week

Backstage...

The original Maori Warrior, Mr Juno Huia, said a karakia for the upcoming tag team match of Whetu and Jade Diamond; the young team was more than ready to face Irishman Mike Ryan and Jimmy Fox!

Also backstage...

Queen Hollie was incensed to discover a threatening message written on her mirror in lipstick; Intern Suki Gogo was lost for an explanation.

Singles match:  The Brute (with Nurse Payne) versus Chris Delorean

Ref:  Mark Freemantle

Chris Delorean was unfazed by the Brute's straitjacketed antics, but he really needed the crowd's support to have a chance of surviving the Brute's attack.  Coming off a recent loss to KPW Champion Inferno, the "Neon Knight" was looking for a win to re-establish himself in the KPW ranks.  The Brute must have remembered his recent loss to Max Damage, because he jumped Delorean before the opening bell!  Delorean surprised the Brute with a flying headscissors off a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker then followed with a pescado when the Brute retreated to the floor.  Back in the ring, the Brute showed his power with a sit-out spinebuster and big bodyslam.  Delorean showed his resilience by surviving a beating and again surprising the Brute with a rollup for a near fall.  The Brute set a blistering pace, withering down his opponent with brutal strikes.  Delorean wnet for his "fly or die" tactics but the Brute showed his second-gernation cunning by ducking Delorean's 88MPH (swinging clothesline) and hitting the Brute Force (sit-out chokebomb) for the pinfall victory.

Winner:  The Brute with Brute Force for the win by pinfall.

Tag Team match:  "The Fixation" Jimmy Fox and Irishman Mike Ryan (with Terry the Golden Greek) versus "Powerhouse" Jade Diamond and Whetu, the Maori Warrior

Ref: Mark Freemantle

KPW fans had already seen these competitors in singles action, so a tag team match was promising to be twice as exciting.  The crowd was firmly behind Diamond and Whetu, and had no time for "Terry's team" of the Fixation and the Irishman.  Whetu and Fox began the match and it wasn't long before the Maori Warrior was punishing Fox and quickly tagging in Jade Diamond to continue the attack.  Diamond and Whetu showed their skilled teamwork by flattening the Fixation with a monkey-flip somersault senton!  The Irishman was champing at the bit to get involved, but Whetu and Diamond kept Jimmy Fox isolated and grounded with a "production line" of high-impact manoeuvres, namely a back-suplex moonsault, running senton splash, running headbutt and knee drop, forcing the Irishman to make the save for his team.

Fox continued to suffer the devastating teamwork of Whetu and Diamond. It was only a cheap shot by Mike Ryan that allowed "Terry's team" to stay in the fight.  The Irishman beat down Mike Ryan, even hitting his feared powerslam!   Ryan and Fox cut the ring in half, keeping Whetu in their corner and switching off quickly to maintain the advantage, sometimes even bothering to tag!  Whetu refused to stay down and the "Powerhouse" was dying to get into the ring.  Whetu's acrobatic prowess enabled him to make the tag to the "Powerhouse" and Jade Diamond lay waste to his opponents!  Seizing the advantage, Whetu and Diamond hit the taiaha (double-team ace crusher) for the win.

Winners: "Powerhouse" Jade Diamond and Whetu "the Maori Warrior" with the taiaha on Fox, allowing Jade Diamond to pin Jimmy Fox.

"Backstage Pass", with Ilex Bell

Ms Bell interviewed Whetu about his team's win and the fact that KPW management had made Whetu and Jade Diamond the number one contenders to the KPW Tag Team championship currently held by the Renegades.  Whetu warned Kade Morgan and The Technician that he and Jade Diamond were coming for their belts!

In the Office...

KPW CEO Rip Morgan discussed next week's number one contendership match with Max "the Axe" Damage.  Because it would be against his long-time friend and ally H-Flame, Rip Morgan wanted to know if Damage was sure he wanted to go ahead with it.  Damage replied that it was all business and that he was ready for the match!

Coming up next week...

  • Irishman Mike Ryan takes on Chris Delorean
  • In a Number One Contenders match, ex-champ H-Flame vies with Max "the Axe" Damage for a shot at the richest prize in New Zealand professional wrestling, the KPW Championship!

For KPW's "Off The Ropes", this is Blair "the Flair" saying, "See you at ringside!"
